Reflection

Looking back on my experience as a and 10th grader, I have to admit that I have grown a lot in the past years. From the first day I stepped into the classroom, I knew that a demanding but rewarding journey was about to begin. At the beginning of the semester, I set goals such as improving my time management and maintaining a positive attitude, and I am proud that I have not only achieved these goals, but exceeded them. We are striving to reach new heights. I have come to recognize the value of hard work and perseverance, even if there were difficult and uncertain moments. This school year was a valuable learning experience that taught me how to overcome chaos, work diligently and persevere in the face of obstacles. The knowledge I gained and the skills I developed will definitely provide a solid foundation for my future business. As we look to the future, we feel excitement and anticipation as we imagine how we can apply the lessons learned to strive for continued success. Fourth grad

Journey to Triumph

A decade from now, I envision myself standing tall, having successfully graduated and earned my degree, a testament to years of hard work and dedication. With that accomplishment under my belt, I will be eager to embark on the next chapter of my life. However, I am well aware of the financial sacrifices my parents made to support my education, so my first priority will be to find a stable job that allows me to begin paying them back. As an aspiring accountant, I will strive to secure a position that not only aligns with my professional goals but also enables me to contribute to the financial stability of my family. With a steady income in place, I will focus on achieving another dream of mine - building my own house. The construction of my future home will be a testament to my determination and a symbol of the hard-earned success I have achieved. It will serve as a sanctuary for both myself and my loved ones, a place where memories are made and cherished. A decade from now, I see mysel

Change, it starts with me

"Change, it starts with me" is a powerful idea that reminds us that transformation begins with ourselves. It recognizes that if we want to see positive change in the world, we need to take responsibility for our own actions and choices. It's about looking within, reflecting on who we are, and being willing to make improvements. When we change ourselves, we can inspire and influence others to do the same, creating a ripple effect that leads to meaningful and lasting transformations. To start with, personal change requires us to be aware of ourselves and to challenge our own beliefs and behaviors. We need to acknowledge areas where we can do better and actively work towards positive change. For example, if we want to promote a more inclusive and accepting society, we must first confront our own prejudices and make an effort to eliminate them. By practicing empathy, listening to others, and educating ourselves, we can become agents of personal transformation that radiates ou

Cherishing Mother's Love

Mother's Day is more than just a holiday – it's a symbol of appreciation and gratitude for the outstanding love, sacrifice, and unyielding support of mothers. It's a time for families to come together to recognize and cherish the exceptional women who have influenced and molded their lives. For many, it's a day to show their love and affection through sweet gestures, like breakfast in bed or handmade cards filled with love. Others plan special outings or buy thoughtful gifts to express their appreciation of the tireless efforts moms put into raising their children.  This day is also a chance to reflect on the uncountable sacrifices that mothers make. It's a time for us to salute their resilience, grace, and their never-ending ability to handle multiple responsibilities. As we celebrate Mother's Day, we remember the invaluable role that mothers play in shaping future generations and building a more caring, compassionate society. Whether they are working moms, sta

Labor Day is more than just a day off from work - it's a special time to pay tribute to the hardworking individuals who have helped shape our country. On the first Monday of September, Americans come together to recognize the efforts and contributions of workers, while other countries such as the Philippines celebrate this occasion on May 1st. Many of us use this time to spend with family and friends and to enjoy the fruits of our labor, but it's also a day to remember the historic struggles that helped improve working conditions and benefits for employees across the nation. One of the most important aspects of Labor Day is its recognition of the power of the labor force and the impact it has on the economy. The holiday reminds us of the workers who fought for better working conditions and a fair wage, paving the way for the creation of the eight-hour workday and the five-day workweek. These hard-won gains brought about labor laws that now safeguard the rights of workers, inclu

Lessons Learned

As the third grading period comes to a close, it is important to take a moment to reflect on the past few months. For many, this period has been a roller coaster ride of emotions and challenges, with both highs and lows. It has been a time of growth, learning, and self-discovery. Looking back, it is clear that this period has been tougher than expected. The pressure and stress of school work, combined with personal struggles, have made it difficult to stay focused and motivated. It often felt like there was no end in sight, and the path forward was shrouded in darkness. However, despite these challenges, there have been moments of joy and happiness that have kept us going. One of the most important things that we have learned during this period is the value of perseverance. We have realized that it is not enough to simply hope that things will get better. Instead, we must actively work towards our goals, even when it feels like there is no progress to be made. We have learned to be pat

Renewing Excellence and Solidarity: ISNHS High School Day 2023

Ilocos Sur National High School (ISNHS) has always been a beacon of academic excellence in the province of Ilocos Sur. Every year, the school holds its High School Day celebration, a grand event that brings together students, faculty members, and alumni to celebrate the school's achievements and renew their commitment to excellence and solidarity. However, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the school was unable to hold its annual celebration in the past years. But on March 25, 2023, the school was able to host its High School Day celebration once again, with the theme "Renewed Commitment in Defying Odds to Transcend Heights of Excellence and Solidarity." The day began with a Thanksgiving mass at 8:00 am, giving thanks for the blessings received and the successful organization of the event. The program started at 10:00 am with a doxology, followed by the national anthem and various hymns, including the Region I Hymn, Vigan City Hymn, and ISNHS Hymn. The principal of ISNHS, Mrs
